App blocker for iPhone

Not every app deserves the same block.

Instagram gets locked. Work Slack gets a doorway you can earn. Daily Offline puts every app on a three-rung ladder — Block · Earn · Lock — and you decide how hard the phone pushes back. Join the waitlist for first access.

41

reaches for Instagram

You stayed out 19
  • Instagram 41 → 19 Lock
  • TikTok 12 → 9 Earn
  • YouTube 6 → 2 Block
An iPhone showing the Daily Offline home screen: an example week card — 41 reaches for Instagram, stayed out 19 — above three apps sitting on the Lock, Earn and Block rungs.

You already tried a blocker. You quit — and not because it failed.

You quit because it treated everything the same. Either everything was blocked and life stopped — no maps, no work chat, no bank — or it turned off with one tap and nothing changed. Your phone is not one habit. It should not have one setting.

US adults spend about 4 hours a day on their phones — roughly 61 days a year. This is a category average, not a personal measurement; your own figure is measured privately on your device. Source: eMarketer, 2025

How it's different

One ladder. Three rungs. You pick the rung per app.

Block

The app doesn't open. One tap turns the rung off — and we say that out loud. It's the rung for the app you just want to think twice about.

Earn

The app doesn't open — but you can earn 10 minutes: a breath, a written reason, or 100 steps. Turning the rung off instead costs a 20-minute wait. Earn is Lock with an honest door, and it's the rung nothing else in the category has.

Lock

The app doesn't open, and there's nothing to earn. Turning it off costs a 20-minute wait — never a trap, because twenty minutes later you're a different person.

One conflict rule for the whole app: the highest rung wins. A schedule or a program can raise a rung. Nothing — not a rule, not us — ever pulls one below what you set.

Setup, then the loop

How Daily Offline works

  1. 01

    Pick what eats your time

Choose the apps in Apple's own picker. iOS hands us an opaque handle, not a list of what's on your phone.

  2. 02

    Set the rung

Block, Earn or Lock — per app, and changeable whenever. Everything starts on Block, so nothing is stricter than you asked for.

  3. 03

    Get your evenings back first

Setup creates one named window for you — Evening, 22:00–07:00, social sits no lower than Lock. No time pickers in your first minute.

  4. 04

See how often you turned around

From then on it counts the reaches: how many, at what hour, and how many times you walked away instead. That's the number that moves.

What you get

A ladder that outlives any program.

Rules — named windows

“Evening”, “Work”, “Sunday”. A rule says: during this window, these apps sit no lower than this rung. One axis — strength. Not twenty switches.

Attempts, not minutes

Apple already shows how long, for free and better. We show how often you reached, when, and how often you turned around. The honest limit: we only know about the apps you put on the ladder.

A free floor that doesn't expire

Three apps on Block, your “Evening” window, and the whole attempt history — free, with no trial clock. Cancel later and everything running keeps running. We don't take back the result.

Guides, and the ladder on autopilot

A program is a schedule of how the rungs rise over time — and you see the whole curve before you start, one dial from gentle to hard. When it ends, your ladder stays. The course finishes; the product doesn't.

You decide how hard the phone pushes back.

Questions

Before you join

What is Daily Offline?
Daily Offline is an app blocker for iPhone with three rungs instead of one switch. Every app you add sits on Block, Earn or Lock, so the app that takes your evenings can be locked while the one you actually need keeps a door. It also counts how often you reached for each one, and how often you turned around.
What is the Earn rung?
Earn is the rung the category is missing: the app does not open, but you can earn 10 minutes with a breath, a written reason, or 100 steps. Turning the rung off instead costs a 20-minute wait. It is Lock with an honest door — and walking 100 steps always has a non-physical alternative.
How is this different from Apple's Screen Time?
Screen Time gives you one strength for everything and one tap to dismiss it. Daily Offline works on top of it and adds the choice: three rungs per app, named windows like “Evening, 22:00–07:00”, and a report of attempts rather than minutes. Apple already shows how long you were on your phone, for free and better.
How do I block apps on my iPhone?
Without any extra app: Settings → Screen Time → App Limits → Add Limit, pick the app, set one minute, and turn on “Block at End of Limit” — otherwise the block screen offers “Ignore Limit”, which is one tap in the worst possible moment. Daily Offline replaces that single dial with three rungs, so the app you need for work is not held to the same setting as the one that takes your evenings.
Can I just switch it off?
On Block, yes — one tap, and we say so rather than pretending otherwise. Earn and Lock cost a 20-minute wait, which is not a trap: you are a different person twenty minutes later. Your own setting is always the floor, so a rule or a program can raise a rung but never lower it.
What does it cost?
Prices are not set yet, but the free floor is: three apps on Block, one “Evening” window, and your full attempt history — free, with no trial clock. Pro adds Earn, Lock, unlimited apps and rules, and the guided programs. Cancel and everything already running keeps running.
Is my data private?
Your raw per-app usage never leaves your iPhone — iOS does not even let us read it outside a sealed report. The attempt log is created on your device and stays yours whether you pay or not. For the waitlist we use your email only to reach you about the launch, and we never sell your data.
When does it launch, and is it iPhone only?
We're building it now and opening access in small groups — join the waitlist and we'll email you when your spot is ready. Daily Offline is iPhone-only, because the ladder is enforced through Apple's own Screen Time frameworks, which exist nowhere else.
